How Did the Ancients Already Know?
Today, handwashing is universally recognized as essential for preventing the spread of disease. Yet less than two centuries ago, this practice was widely dismissed by the medical community. Modern science has since confirmed what is now considered common knowledge: cleanliness plays a critical role in protecting health and life.
Remarkably, long before the development of modern medical science, the Bible recorded instructions related to hygiene, cleanliness, and the handling of disease within the community of Israel. This seminar examines those biblical principles in their historical and scriptural context, exploring how they reflect practical wisdom that continues to resonate today.
Rather than speculation, this study invites the church to consider how biblical instruction often addressed real human needs—offering guidance that supported health, protected community life, and demonstrated God’s care for everyday living.
